A Soul`s Journey

India is known as the motherland of ancient wisdom and is the home of the oldest pilgrimage tradition in the whole world. There are thousands of sacred sites known as tirthas, meeting places of heaven and earth, where one crosses the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth to reach the shore of enlightenment and liberation.

Tirthas are powerful vortexes of energy that raise an individual’s consciousness while the experience of higher dimensions is easier to attain. Spiritual practices performed at these ancient holy sites multiply millions of times over, dissolve lifetimes of karma and greatly speed up spiritual progress.

Testimonials from India Retreat Attendees

Itinerary & Highlights

“A place of pilgrimage is where the currents [flow] from the body towards the soul, where the whole atmosphere is charged; from where people have achieved samadhi, from where people realized their enlightenment. Such places have become specially charged. In such a place, if you just open your sails, without doing anything else, your journey will begin.”
-Osho

New Delhi: Explore the Old & New City

Welcome to the capital of India! This is one of the most lively, diverse, and endlessly fascinating cities to visit. New Delhi is a blend of the past and present, blessed with beautiful archaeological ruins, rich history, nature, and shopping areas.

A city of culture, art, history, education, and fun, New Delhi is filled with popular tourist attractions that allow you to experience the blend of modern and traditional Indian life.

Amritsar: “Sri Harmandir Sahib” The Golden Temple

Amritsar is the spiritual and cultural center of the Sikh tradition with the Golden Temple (dating back to 1578) as the soul, a place of devotion for all irrespective of caste, creed or race.

The temple is overlaid in the center by a Sarovar or pool. People believe the water has healing properties that can cure many diseases, so pilgrims bathe in the pool and perform a symbolic cleansing of the soul.

Golden Temple: The opulent and humbling complex that serves as the hub of Sikh spirituality

Har Ki Pauri: “The steps of Almighty God;” the place where devotees can have a hand full of Amrit (Nectar) from the Sarovar

Ath Sath Tirath: Taking a dip here with devotion blesses one with the benefit of holy bathing of sixty-eight holy rivers

Langar: The free meal served to over 75,000 pilgrims a day

84 Steps at Goindwal Baoli: It is believed that performing prayers on these 84 steps cleanses the karma of 8.4 million incarnations, liberating the soul

Rishikesh: Gateway to the Kingdom of Gods

The World Capital of Yoga, Rishikesh is considered a sacred town, the abode of many saints and sages. It is home to the Triveni Ghat, a confluence of three holy Rivers: the Ganges, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati. A bath here is said to have the power of purifying & clearing away all of one’s sins and freeing one from the cycle of rebirth.

In the evening, the town slows down as sadhus and pilgrims prepare for the nightly Ganga Aarti, the Divine light ceremony. Enjoy the sunset, the Himalayas’ majesty,

and the Ganges’ beauty while feeling a deep sense of bliss, reverence,
and spiritual connection.

Lakshman Jhula: The famous hanging bridge across Ganga

Parmarth Niketan: The largest local Ashram, “a true spiritual haven”

Ganga Aarti: The devotional ritual offered to the Holy Ganges: a play of Kirtan, prayers, flowers, and fire as a thank you to the Divine

Triveni Ghat: The pilgrimage site where the water is believed to have the power to wash away the sins and purify the soul

Meditation at Vasishta Guha: The cave of one of the Saptarishis (Seven Great Sages), the teacher of God Rama

Meditation at Jesus Cave: The place where Christ is believed to have spent time through his sojourn in India during the lost years.

Dharamshala: Home of the Dalai Lama

Dharamshala means “a spiritual dwelling,” the home of the Tibetan exile community in India and their spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama. This warm and friendly hill station town is filled with Buddhist temples, monasteries, and Tibetan shops, surrounded by rolling snow-capped mountains.

Our stay in Dharamshala will include monastery visits, learning about Tibetan culture, walks in the beautiful nearby forests, and opportunities to hike uphill
for yoga and meditation in the foothills of the great Himalayas.

Namgyal Monastery: The largest Tibetan temple outside Tibet and the personal monastery of Dalai Lama

Gyuto Monastery: The center for Tantric Meditation, ritual arts and Buddhist philosophy, the temporary residence of the 17th Karmapa

Tashi Jong Khampagar Monastery: The dwelling place of the famous togdens, yogis who have gained high levels of realization

Norbulingka: The heart of Tibetan Culture, a center for the art of Thangka painting, sculpture, screen-printing, woodcarving, papermaking, and metal craft

Triund: The crown jewel of Dharamshala with most spectacular view of the snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar ranges

McLeod Ganj: Known as “Little Lhasa,” famous for the culture, crafts, Tibetan thangkas, carpets, and souvenirs.

A beautiful journey that helped me connect some dots

Sat Nam,

This was a beautiful journey that helped me connect some dots together and find answers. My favorite place was the cave where Jesus Meditated. A most profound spiritual journey

Namaste Cosmin,

I remember you looking me in the eyes and saying you should go to India with us. It was only a couple of weeks later after I started yoga on New Years Eve. It felt like a personal invitation and recognition from you that this was important for me. I have wanted for over 20 years for any teacher to journey back to India and take me. It is not possible for Mary to physically yet the universe provided me the opportunity to have a most profound spiritual journey. Thank you

I am extremely blessed for all you’ve done and made possible.

— Earlen Evans

Thank you for the trip of a lifetime

Mahadev,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the trip of a lifetime!! Thank you for “hooking it up” ? I have felt like royalty and VIP everywhere we have been on this India trip and I wouldn’t have had it any other way or with any other tour guide (you) or any other group.

I am beyond grateful for the memories, forget the material souvenirs!!! The experiences I’ve had here will always be with me!! I truly appreciate ALL the hard work you’ve put into organizing this journey and making it possible. I know it wasn’t easy managing over 30 emotional adults, but we made it and it was worth it and I’m grateful to have been a part of it.

Namaste,

— Vanessa

This has been a heartfelt journey for me

Words cannot share how heartfelt this journey has been for me. I feel you as such a Blessed teacher and beautiful soul. Much gratitude that you are in my life.
