On the Full Moon in May we celebrate “Buddha Purnima” – the most sacred festivals of Buddhists. Buddha Purnima (Buddha`s Birthday) is celebrated in remembrance of Gautama Buddha and it commemorates three important events of Buddha’s life: the birth, enlightenment – “Nirvana”, and passing “Parinirvana”.
This is a time for much celebration, and we`ll practice and experience the uplifting and joyous Smiling Buddha Kriya. Historically, this is an outstanding meditation. The story goes that a Brahman found Siddhartha nearly starved and in an unhappy way, unable to walk after a forty-day fast under the fig tree. He began eating slowly. The great Brahman nursed him back to health, and when Siddhartha finally began to smile again, the Brahman taught him this kriya. Siddhartha went on to become Buddha, who found Enlightenment under the bodhi tree!
The Smiling Buddha Kriya will help you experience happiness, joy & bliss. It opens the heart and gives you compassion in a state of grace; it expands consciousness and balances the mind, it gives the confidence to face and overcome challenges. The radiance you experience will enable you to uplift the hearts of others just by being in their presence.
All spiritual practice effect multiplies a thousand fold under the full moon. This day is a thrice blessed day, a very auspicious time for meditation & prayer. Come meditate, chant, dance and enjoy this great day with your spiritual community.
Immerse yourself in the healing sounds of the Gong Bath right after the meditation!
